PROJECT TYPE:
Whole-House Remodel and Additions

LOCATION:
Walnut Creek, CA

CONTRACTOR:
Creation 7

DESCRIPTION:
New owners of this 3 bedroom/2 bathroom single-story California Ranch style home on a large lot bought the property with an eye toward expansion of the house to accommodate their ageing parents and embracing a connection toward the existing expansive pool.

We brought this 1950’s ranch house into a new phase of its life and found a fresh aesthetic for a family who was literally willing to push the envelope of the original structure.  We extended the typical rooflines across the whole back of the house, including two additions for a new primary suite and new guest suite, forming a U-shape plan on the back of the house. Beyond those additions, the big design move was made with a flat-roof addition to the kitchen and dining rooms.  This unexpected modern intervention was made possible with a steel moment frame to form the large opening for a massive sliding window system.

Every inch of the existing home was remodeled and updated for a like-new forever home for this family.
